# xarray.CFTimeIndex.is_

#### CFTimeIndex.is_(other)[[source]](https://github.com/pydata/xarray/blob/main/xarray/../.pixi/envs/doc/lib/python3.14/site-packages/pandas/core/indexes/base.py#L797-L835)

More flexible, faster check like `is` but that works through views.

Note: this is *not* the same as `Index.identical()`, which checks
that metadata is also the same.

* **Parameters:**
  **other** ([`object`](https://docs.python.org/3/builtins/functions.html#object)) – Other object to compare against.
* **Returns:**
  [`bool`](https://docs.python.org/3/builtins/functions.html#bool) – True if both have same underlying data, False otherwise.
